The In the Zone forum held on 10 March 2011 was an intensive one-day meeting of 100 national and international leaders from the business, government and academic sectors.
It provided an opportunity for discussion and debate about our increasingly complex global neighbourhood, including energy, food and water security, national security in the Indian Ocean region, the opportunities and costs of increasingly globalised capital flows and how nations can become more competitive by optimising inherent competitive advantages.
The UWA Vice-Chancellor, Alan Robson, welcomed 22 distinguished speakers including eminent UWA alumnus His Excellency Professor Dr Boediono, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Premier of Western Australia, Mr Colin Barnett.
The University of Western Australia was proud to confer upon Professor Dr Boediono the honorary degree of Doctor of Economics during his visit to campus.
