
Dr Narongchai Akrasanee, a former Minister of Commerce and Senator of Thailand, is chairman of the Board of Directors of Export-Import Bank of Thailand, and MFC Asset Management Plc.
Dr Narongchai received BEc with honours from the University of Western Australia, and MA and PhD. from the Johns Hopkins University.
He is member of Economic Advisory Committee of the Prime Minister. He is also affiliated with many other institutions.

Formerly, Dr Narongchai served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University. He was a consultant to several international organisations, including the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and was advisor to many Thai prime ministers.
He has been an active participant or speaker at seminars and conferences in Thailand and overseas on public issues including economic development, regional and sub-regional cooperations, and international economic systems.
He has also served as a member of many international committees or task forces including the ASEAN Task Force (1983-84), APEC Eminent Persons Group (1993-96), and ASEM Task Force (2002-03).
Dr.Narongchai has his own business. His family-owned investment holding company, the Seranee Group, has investment in property development, golf resorts and restaurants.
