The University of Western Australia’s inaugural conference, In the Zone: Crisis, Opportunity and the New World Order, was held in Perth in November 2009.
It attracted a range of senior representatives from governments, the private sector and academia, and a number of respected national and international speakers from China, Japan, India, South East Asia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The event galvanised the Perth-based global business community, and brought a high level of foreign policy and economic dialogue to the nation’s leading economy.
Partnerships with The Australian newspaper and the ABC provided extensive media coverage with an underlying narrative of Perth and Western Australia as a dynamic city, economically integrated with our timezone, region and its leading economies.
Following on from the great success of the inaugural In the Zone Conference 2009, The University of Western Australia will again play host to the next In the Zone Conference Series which will take place in Perth, Western Australia in 2011 and 2012.
